Narooma is the next stop for a Shredcation Ride Weekend - a chance to get away and spend quality time with the one you love … your bike! It’s also the perfect opportunity to rack up some serious trail time while receiving in-depth coaching from us on the trails built and maintained by the fabulous Narooma MTB Club.
For those of you who haven't yet visited the Narooma Mountain Bike Park, you're in for an absolute treat!

Located in Bodalla State Forest, just north of Narooma, the park features some 80+ kilometres of machine and hand-built trails, with everything from gravity and jumps to natural tech and cross-country. This variety means there’s something for everyone - and no chance of getting bored. Not only are the trails superb quality, the forest they weave their way through is also spectacular.

The Shredcation is primarily shuttle-supported, with the fantastic team from Southbound Escapes ensuring you spend minimum time waiting and maximum time on the trails. Their friendly service and quick shuttle turnaround make for a smooth, hassle-free riding experience.

There’s plenty to enjoy off the bike, too. Narooma sits on the beautiful Wagonga Inlet, surrounded by swimming spots and surf beaches. You’ll also have the opportunity to head out on the water and snorkel with the local seals - affectionately known as the “puppies of the sea” - with some bonus whale watching likely as it's Humpback whale migration season.

Narooma has some of the most highly-regarded restaurants on the South Coast, and we know you'll be hungry after a big day of riding! We’ve lined up some excellent dinner venues, giving you the chance to relax, refuel and share stories from the trails.

With pretty much everything organised for you (you've just got to get yourself there!), you can focus on what matters most - riding your bike.

Who's this for?
This Shredcation is designed for intermediate to advanced mountain bikers who are comfortable riding blue trails and gravity-focused terrain. While there will be opportunities to challenge yourself, you don't need to be an expert rider to enjoy the Shredcation. Riders often get the most out of the experience when they're keen to learn, try new terrain, and take advantage of the coaching and support available throughout the trip.

With two experienced instructors on the trip, we'll split into smaller groups where appropriate to ensure everyone gets the most from their riding. The itinerary also allows riders the flexibility to ride independently at times if they prefer.

A reasonable level of fitness is recommended. Although this is a shuttle-assisted trip, it certainly isn't all downhill! A full day of shuttles still adds up to plenty of riding, and we're planning to do some trail riding too. The good news is that you'll have the flexibility to maximise your trail time or, if you prefer, take things at a more relaxed pace and enjoy everything Narooma has to offer off the bike.

To get the most out of the trip, we recommend riding a dual-suspension mountain bike. If you aren't able to bring your own bike, then analogue bike hire is available through Southbound Escapes. We also recommend bringing both an open-face and a full-face helmet so you're prepared for the variety of riding we'll be doing throughout the Shredcation.
