Shred School for Kids

Get SHREDUCATED!

Does your child love riding their bike? Would you like them to have the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills of mountain biking, resulting in them riding with greater skill, control, confidence ... and FUN!

Our Shred School term-time program is specifically designed to be fun and educational for 8-12 year old girls and boys who can already ride independently and have basic control of a bike. During this structured program they'll learn fundamental mountain bike techniques for cornering, braking, using gears, descending, climbing and negotiating obstacles - delivered by qualified coaches in a controlled off-road environment. There'll be plenty of games and fun challenges, and they'll also learn the principles of bike maintenance including safety checks, basic maintenance and how to clean their bike. All resulting in an A+ Shreducation!

Dates & Time:

Starting Tuesday 28 April 2020 and running for 8 consecutive weeks*, 3.30-5.00pm

* Please keep Tuesdays 23 and 30 June free as backup dates in case of poor weather. If we have a clear run through, we may extend the program for these two dates.

Location:

Manly Dam MTB track area, Sydney, NSW

Cost:

  • $200 for the 8 week program ($25 per session)

  • We are an Active Kids provider. To use a voucher for your child's enrolment, use coupon code ACTIVEKIDSSS to discount the entry fee by the voucher value ($100) and then email the voucher to info@chocolatefoot.com.au

  •  A trial class is available if your child would like to see what it's all about before committing to the program - please contact us to arrange this.

What you'll need to bring:

  • Mountain bike that is mechanically sound and clean. This is really important, as if we find your child’s bike to be unsafe or not suitable, we won’t be able to allow them to ride, which would be disappointing for everyone!

  • Bike protective gear - helmet (Australian Standards AS/NZS 2063 approved) & gloves as a minimum, other protective gear optional such as eyewear, elbow, knee/shin pads

  • Spare tube that is compatible with your child's bike

  • Water & snacks - they will need to carry these with them while riding

What's provided:

  • Small group tuition - a maximum of 10 kids in the class, ensuring plenty of attention for everyone

  • A structured program of mountain bike skills and education delivered by qualified coaches

  • Plenty of fun and challenge with games and guided trail rides

  • Good vibes and plenty of positive reinforcement, because mountain biking is always meant to be fun!
