Singletrack Mind Series

... for anyone obsessed with singletrack

Round Six

ctmbc-100

Lidsdale State Forest, Rydal, hosted by Central Tablelands Mountain Bike Club - Sunday 23 October 2011

The Venue

The venue for this round of the SRAM Singletrack Mind Series is Rydal village, a tiny heritage site set in magnificent countryside near Lithgow. Sadly, the iconic Lidsdale XC circuit fell victim to the logging trucks late last year. But the crew from CTMBC were quick to secure a new area in Lidsdale State Forest to build a brand new trail, and the best news of all is that being in native forest, it's there to stay! The trail is based out of the Rydal Showground, which will be our Event Centre and should provide great, dust-free facilities!

The Course

If you enjoyed the old pine forest trails at Lidsdale but hated the long uphill grinds then you're going to love Rydal! Set in native forest it has long stretches of sweeping single trail that wind along the ridge top with views back over the western rim of the Blue Mountains. There is nothing overly technical but there are rollers, table tops, optional gap jumps, rock gardens, and the occasional off camber corner to spice up the fun and keep things interesting. The new trail has proven popular at club level with club rounds more then doubling since moving out of the pines. CTMBC like it and hope you do too!

Entries

Entries for Round 6 of the Singletrack Mind Series will close at midnight on Wednesday 19 October. No changes to entries or categories will be possible after that time, however rider substitutions may still be made at Registration at the event. All substitute riders must download, fill out and bring the Replacement Rider Form to Registration. If your new rider is not a MTBA member they will need to pay $20 (cash only) for a MTBA day licence even if the rider they are replacing has already paid for a day licence online – the insurance policy always stays with the individual. Day licences are not transferable BUT the unused day licence will be refunded to the rider who originally paid for it in online entry – minus a buck ($1) for administration.
